Sally Lock
TV, Film, Commercials and Music Video Production Designer

about.

Hello I'm Sally, a London based Designer for TV & Film and here's a little bit about my background.
I initially trained within the profession of architecture, gaining an undergraduate degree from The University of Lincoln & Humberside in Hull and then achieving my Masters in Design at The University of Massachusetts, USA in 2001.
Upon my return to London I began working with Architects in the city and continued to do this for several years, although I always knew my passion lay within TV & Film, later on I was able to adapt my design skills accordingly. So in 2003 I took some time out to travel, find inspiration and gain some life experiences. When I returned to London I made the move into the BBC Art Departments and began my career as a runner.
I spent the next few years working as an Art Department Assistant for various production companies, and then moved into Set and Prop graphics. I've worked on numerous productions including The Inbetweeners, Comic Relief and Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.
I quickly moved up to Art Director with Production Designers at the BBC, ITV, SKY etc. where I was involved in a number of Dramas, Sitcoms and Light Entertainment shows. I eventually gained work independently and in the past 6 years worked as a freelance Production Designer designing sets for First Dates, The James Corden Late Late Show, MTV European Music Awards, Old Peoples Home for Four Year Olds, I'll Get This, The Circle and a Will Ferrell Royal Wedding Special.
Working from the bottom up has given me great resolve and an unique insight into what needs to happen behind the scenes. I am determined to create successful designs, aiming at completing projects on time, within budget and always with due diligence and loads of passion.
